A dog was stuck in a car for six days without food or water but miraculously survived.

The dog, which goes by the name of Zipper, was discovered by security guards Sunday locked up in the vehicle in Seattle.

The dog was reportedly shaking when it was found and police officers were called to the scene to free the dog. After the dog had finally been given some food and water, it was eventually taken to the Seattle Animal Shelter.

According to the security guards, the car was in the parking lot for six days, with the owner nowhere in sight.

The man who was supposed to be looking after the dog was eventually tracked down, according to the Seattle Police Department. The man reportedly neglected looking after the dog while his girlfriend was out of town.

The man has yet to be charged as officers are looking for more evidence that the dog went without food and water for six days. The man may be charged for neglect if police can confirm that the dog was in the car for nearly a week.

Staying in a locked car can be extremely dangerous as the temperature levels can rise very high, especially in direct sunlight.
