Todd Chrisley has opened up about Will Campbell, the man his oldest daughter Lindsie Chrisley filed for divorce against as the family’s popular series Chrisley Knows Best airs on USA.

Both Lindsie and Todd sat down with E! News and Todd got candid about why he was not a fan of his daughter’s union to begin with.

“I had a problem with the way the marriage started,” he admitted. He said Campbell was not the only one at fault. “Not just on Will’s side but on my daughter’s side as well.”

He explained, “I don’t think that the marriage started out the way that it should have, and certainly not the way that a father would like to see a marriage start. You know, a father has his dreams when he has a child or a daughter that a young man is going to come and knock on the door one day and say, ‘Mr. Chrisley, I love your daughter so much and may I have her hand in marriage?’ That never happened. The level of respect wasn’t there.”

He said that’s where his daughter’s fault comes into play. He pointed out that she should have not allowed “that kind of disrespect.

He also commended Campbell for being “a hard worker and a very good provider for them” as well as “an excellent father.”

As for Linside, she added there are “a lot of hurt feelings there” as she tries to “imagine” her life with Campbell as her husband.
