Kidnappings be damned. The Blacklist's Tom Keen has one thing on his mind, and that's to ensure the safety of his beleaguered family.

Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Liz (Megan Boone) sacrificed it all to start a new life in Cuba, but their grand plans were shattered by the arrival of Alexander Kirk. Allegedly Liz's father, Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) opted to display his paternal affection via kidnapping, scattering mother, father, and baby to the winds. When the season 4 premiere picks up, viewers will finally get to see where Tom landed.

"I open season 4 locked in a trunk, which is not a good place to be," Eggold told Entertainment Weekly.

Despite his predicament, the new dad will have more than just mere survival on his mind. After years of looking out for No. 1, Tom is discovering what it's like to want to put Agnes and Liz first.

At the end of season 3, Liz and I got the briefest of glimpses of what it would be like to live that idyllic dream as a family on a beach in Cuba, and then it's taken away," Eggold explained. "So having tasted it, the stakes are higher. I don't think there's anything that Tom wouldn't do to get them both back."

Unfortunately, the spy might be chasing a pipe dream. With dangers constantly popping out of the woodwork, does the Keen family really stand a chance?

"Can they be parents?" Eggold mused, according to TV Guide. "Can they bring a person into this chaotic, criminal world that they have?"
