Quantico's Alex Parrish has a nose for trouble. Whether it be at FBI or the CIA, the unparalleled investigator has a habit of unearthing the government's deepest darkest secrets - and it's this skill that will put her at the center of a global conspiracy in season 2.

The ABC series will return on Sept. 25, and the summary for the premiere promises another year of nail-biting mystery. Titled "Kudove," the season opener will pick up following Alex's (Priyanka Chopra) move from the Bureau to the Agency.

"While investigating the dark world of espionage at a mysterious CIA training facility, Alex becomes caught at the center of a conspiracy that threatens lives across the globe," ABC teased.

Last season, all episode titles were pulled from the final word of the hour (with the exception of the finale which took advantage of Alex's implied "Yes" as opposed to an overt answer). We don't know if the series will utilize a similar format for the sophomore run, but we do know what "Kudove" means. A CIA cryptonym, the title is the Agency's codeword for the CIA (KU) Deputy Director for Operations (DOVE).

Fun Fact: the FBI is apparently referred to as ODENVY with OD standing for other US government departments. Not quite sure what that says about interagency relations.

Just as Season 2 will be peppered with new characters like the Deputy Director for Operations, fans should also prepare for a change of pace. Unlike Alex's high-octane fugitive race through New York City, the fall run will feature a slower build.

"Season 2 is much more contained," showrunner Josh Safran said, according to TV Guide. "It unfolds slowly and it is not somebody on the run. ... The CIA is about intelligence. It's about how are you cultivating and using intelligence, which is a slower boil. It still has all of the great twists. It's not a bomb going off every week."
