A new report revealed that former NFL player Kordell Stewart "never" planned to divorce Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart, and that he filed for divorce as a publicity stunt.

An insider who claimed to work closely with the show's stars said the couple created a fake divorce because they "desperately" wanted to be on the upcoming season of TRHOA.

"Porsha found out that she was NOT going to come back on the show - and both her and her husband [Kordell] desperately wanted to stay on the Housewives," the source told Media Takeout. "So they figured if they created a FAKE DIVORCE, like NeNe did - it would be enough drama for them to be asked back. They still live together and they are still very much a married couple."

A rep for Porsha debunked the claim on Wednesday. A statement was released to HipHollywood on Porsha's behalf, which said that the alleged source's claims are "absolutely ridiculous,"

"Given everything this abrupt filing has put her through in the public, she would never bring something like this on herself, ESPECIALLY with them having a child in the house," the statement read. "She wishes things could have been different but that simply is not possible."

Kordell filed a petition for divorce from Porsha on March 22 in Fulton County, Ga. The couple had been married less than two years - they wed on May 21, 2011.

Porsha was " totally blindsided" by Kordell filing for divorce, she said on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live in April. She added that she learned news of the divorce on Twitter while she and Kordell were at home together. She then shocked the show's host, Andy Cohen, by admitted that she is still living with her soon-to-be ex-husband.
