During Thursday's elimination show of American Idol 2013, Angie Miller was the first to go to the Top 3 followed by Candice Glover.

The elimination came down to Kree Harrison and Amber Holcomb and despite most viewers that expected the former to be sent home, tonight, Amber Holcomb was voted off the competition after 81 million votes were cast.

Amber seemed shocked. When the cameras turned to the judges' table, Mariah Carey seemed not happy at all and Nicki Minaj had no expression in her face. The gentlemen, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban didn't seem too expressive as well.

Ryan Seacrest asked Amber to perform for the last time and she took the microphone. Candice couldn't stop crying while listening to Amber sing and Kree seemed that she was still digesting what just happened. Angie seemed not too involved in what was going on because she seemed happier for having made it to the next round.

While Amber was performing, Carey and Minaj were in tears and it seems that Amber saw them because well before she could end her song, she broke down. Seacrest called her dad to come on stage to comfort her and he did. He hugged her daughter and whispered some words of encouragement. Amber hugged him and couldn't stop crying.

The emotional moment put all the four judges to their feet and Carey seemed visibly upset.

However, a few minutes later things apparently got better. In a photo unveiled by American Idol, the top 4 appear smiling talking to Randy and Keith and Amber and Kree appear hugging each other, while Candice is smiling.

The show must go on!
