We didn't think it was possible, but Suit's Law Offices of Pearson Specter Litt just became even smaller. Just as the Mike Ross debacle was settling down, Jessica decided to cut the cord.

Following the events of the midseason finale, Gina Torres' character wants to get back to basics. Corporate law is a dirty game and one that doesn't necessarily help those who need it the most. Jessica's humanity began pulling her in another direction as season 5 progressed, and the events of the murder trail buoyed her decision.

That doesn't mean Jessica is gone for good, however.

"Don't count Jessica out on Suits, 'cause those boys are going to mess up and they're going to have to call me. I believe that," Torres told Entertainment Weekly. "I don't know when, I don't know how, but that story's not done, 'cause everybody comes back."

With Jessica in Chicago, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Louis (Rick Hoffman) will have to deal with her sudden absence. Will the pair vie for power? Can they continue to get along without a mediator? Only time will tell.

"Obviously, she's such a titanic figure within the firm, and in both Harvey and Louis' life. But she's more of a mother/mentor figure to [Harvey] than to Louis. So it's really going to affect him," executive producer Aaron Korsh told TV Line. "There's a power vacuum. They're going to have to figure out how to deal with it. What we're trying to do is have them react in some ways exactly as you would expect them to react, and in other ways surprise you a little bit."
