Will the Ramsey family's saga never end?

To mark the 20th anniversary of the murder of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, CBS aired a two-part special dissecting the clues to try and piece together who was really behind JonBenet's death. They effectively blamed none other than JonBenet's older brother, Burke Ramsey, who was 9 years old at the time, for accidentally killing his sister.

Now, L. Lin Wood, the Ramsey family lawyer, revealed he plans to sue CBS. He claimed that CBS's "false and unprofessional attacks on this young man are disgusting and revolting."

CBS, however, doesn't have any intention of backing down. In fact, the network claimed that it "stands by the broadcast and will do so in court."

Here's my little conspiracy theory: What if this was the intention of CBS all along? They knew that there was no way they were going to air a program essentially accusing someone of murder and not get slapped with a libel suit.

Maybe they hoped to be sued, because by initiating a suit they would be in a position to request access to previously restricted evidence in the JonBenet case. Their job would be to prove that Burke did kill JonBenet, thus disproving a libel claim and potentially solving a mystery that has plagued the world for nearly 20 years.

Here's hoping this won't get settled out of court.
