When Kim Kardashian attended the 2013 Met Gala for the first time on Monday with her boyfriend Kanye West, she received mixed reviews for her floral print form-fitting gown from an unlikely star.

Actor Robin Williams weighed in with a comment about the reality star's surprising style turn. The 61-year-old posted a photo of himself in character as the cross-dressing nanny from his hit 1990s film, Mrs. Doubtfire. In the picture, Williams is wearing a floral print dress and matching jacket. The split image has Williams alongside an photo of Kardashian on the red carpet at the MET event.

Kardashian, 32, wore a custom dress by Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute exhibit, Punk: Chaos Couture. Her floral print mermaid-style dress had a high neck collar, high-slit and a long train. She accessorized the look with matching gloves and high-heel shoes. West wore a tuxedo without a tie and a solid white shirt by the same fashion designer. On the red carpet, the mother-to-be shared how "excited" she was about attending the event for the first time.

The fashion designer who created Kardashian's custom design responded to the flak the reality star received for the unexpected choice.

"People can say what they want," Tisci told Women's Wear Daily of the gown. "To me, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing in the world, and when you celebrate something, you give people flowers. I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career."
