Apple is promising thinner and lighter laptops with the release of the new MacBook and MacBook Pro. Here are some of the major changes the company has done to produce another powerful device.

In CNET's report, one of the major differences between the MacBook, the MacBook 2015 and MacBook 2016 is the screen size. The MacBook will have a 12-inch screen while the new MacBook Pro will come with two variants, a 13.3-inch screen and a 15-inch screen just like the MacBook 2015. However, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be lighter compared to the MacBook Pro 2015 which only weighs 3.02 lbs for the 13.3-inch model and 4.02 lbs for the 15-inch model.

One of the biggest updates for the new models is the processor. This time, Apple used Skylake processors instead of using Intel Haswell. This will give the new MacBook and MacBook Pro more efficient power management and a faster performance.

The MacBook Pro 2016 boasts a 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, 256GB SSD, 8GB of RAM and has Intel Iris Graphics 550 card for the 13.3-inch version alone. This is an upgrade of the older version which only has 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, 128GB SSD, 8GB of RAM and has Intel Iris Graphics 6100 for the 13.3-inch version.

In Pocket-lint's comparison of the MacBook Pro 2015 and MacBook Pro 2016, it was said that both versions feature the same aluminum enclosure and LED-backlit display. It also come in silver or space gray color options. Both models also claim to have 10 hours of battery life.

One of the major changes for the MacBook Pro 2016 is it now features a Touch Bar that is integrated with Touch ID sensor. It sits at the top of the keyboard where one can normally find the standard function keys.

As for the price of each of the laptops, the new MacBook is available for at least $1,299 which is the same with the price of the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2015 after it was released last year. The new MacBook Pro on the other hand will start at $1,499 and $1,799 for those who want to have the Touch Bar. The 15-in model will be available for $2,399.
