"The Blacklist" season 4 is a confusion with Liz's father's identity on the forefront. On the one hand, Alexander Kirk came forward to reveal that he is Liz's real dad. On the other, is he really? The speculation that Red is actually Liz's father isn't out of the choices just yet.

Nothing is as it seems with this show and producers assured that the answer to the biggest question this season will be exposed in the midseason finale, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Producers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath were interviewed and both disclosed key information about the midseason ending of "The Blacklist" season 4.

According to Bokenkamp, Red is planning something which no one would expect. Meanwhile, Eisendrath divulged that Liz will definitely "get answers to the questions she's been asking since the beginning of the show."

The Nov. 3 episode revealed through another DNA test that Kirk is not really the father of Liz. This test was done when Liz finally agrees to help Kirk survive his illness. The second test actually refutes the first one which Tom got hold of a few episodes ago.

When asked about the reliability of the second result, executive producer, Eisendrath said that is not surprising if the viewers will question it the same way that Kirk had. He believes that Red was the one responsible for faking the new results so that Liz will not be able to help the dying Russian.

"...maybe it is true that Reddington would like nothing more than to get Alexander Kirk out of Liz's life, and if that means making him believe that he is not her father, or making Liz believe that Kirk is in fact not her father, he might do that," John explained.

There are many question marks regarding Kirk as Liz's father. Firstly, why does Liz not remember him? In the snippets of Liz's past, Kirk was not show even once. This is curious for many fans of the show.

Secondly, the manner the first DNA result, which proves the relationship of Liz and Kirk, surfaced is too good to be true. The second one, although doubts were raised by Kirk, is frankly more reliable. When Liz decided to become a donor, Red was too busy hunting Dr. Shaw. Not unless, Reddington has expected Liz's decision, in advance, then the latest DNA result must be legit.
