They've had people wondering if they were hooking up for a while after they both became single again earlier this year, but it appears friendship is all that will happen as far as a relationship between Cara Delevingne and Amber Heard goes.

Gossip Cop has called a story from Star Magazine, which alleged the pair, who respectively split from St. Vincent and Johnny Depp earlier this year and are both openly bisexual, were more than friends, false.

The two attended Kendall Jenner's 21st birthday together earlier this month and reportedly "confirmed" they were more than just pals by supposedly "locking lips" during the party.

"They were all over each other!" A source told the magazine. "They certainly weren't trying to be discreet about it. None of their girlfriends looked the least bit surprised to see them hooking up."

However, Gossip Cop looked into the story and checked in with sources close to Delevingne who confirmed that the two are good friends, but that there is nothing romantic going on between them.

This isn't the first time things have been suggested as being romantic between the two friends however, and fans have expressed hopes they would become a couple for a while now, especially after Heard's divorce from Depp was announced this spring, and Delevingne was floated out as one of the potential reasons for problems in the former couple's marriage.

Reports surfaced back in May that Depp had been 'driven insane' over fear that Heard was cheating on him with Delevingne after they grew closer while Heard and Depp were in London in 2014 as he worked on Alice Through The Looking Glass.

"They [Amber and Cara] used to party together a lot and made no attempt to hide the fact that they were quite flirty," a source said at the time. "But that would spark furious rows with Johnny, who hated how indiscreet she was being. On one occasion he even screamed at her, 'You're making a fool of me.'"
