The Young and the Restless promises face-offs and mystery in the coming episodes. A lot of drama is in store for viewers ahead of Christmas as Genoa City denizens are embroiled in emotional battles and intriguing situations.

To start with, Paul is in a tricky situation and his decision to give Dylan the assignment could prove to be dangerous for the life of his son, reports SoapHub. Though Paul feels that he is right for the job, Christine has her reservations. She needs an experienced detective to work on her case and feels that sending a novice might not yield results.

She feels that Dylan's absence from the force for such a long time makes him unsuitable and she also knows that if something happens to him, Paul will never forgive himself. Her case is so challenging that even Paul, who is an ace and always game for tough missions, finds it a little too much. It is so treacherous that he is not willing to give Dylan all the details.

On the other hand, Jill and Lauren will face off when the former questions her about Fenmores. Lauren and Michael will also have to deal with a shocking event. Phyllis will try to move on from her failed marriage with Jack but happiness awaits Chelsea as she will be embarking on a new journey with Adam.

As for Victor, his family will be reminded the true meaning of Christmas in the new episodes of "The Young and The Restless". He has already been through some big troubles. Faith disappeared amidst Nick and Sharon's fight, causing Nikki to ask Victor to send a search party to look out for her.

Coming back to Dylan, his life is at stake but Paul feels that it is only Dylan who can do the job and it does indicate at his exit from The Young and The Restless series. It looks like Dylan will indeed face some grave danger and might meet death as well. This is because Steve Burton, who plays the role, has announced his exit and given the plot, it looks very likely that he will leave in a body bag.

The Young and the Restless airs on CBS on weekdays.
