A Charlie Brown Christmas has become a holiday classic over the past few decades. The special features Charlie Brown becoming depressed as the Christmas season rolls around, with Lucy telling him he should direct a school play. He squabbles with his fellow peers over how the play should be presented, only to find friendship and love, and the true meaning of Christmas.

ABC is set to air A Charlie Brown Christmas Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with the special lasting one hour. The special will also feature new Peanuts vignettes.

A Charlie Brown Christmas celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. ABC produced a special called It's Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown! last year, which was hosted by Kristen Bell and featured of Vince Guaraldi, a Kristin Chenoweth performance of "Happiness" from the Peanuts Broadway musical and a Matthew Morrison performance of "Just Like Me", an original song.

The special also included performances by Pentatonix, Sarah McLachlan, Boyz II Men, David Benoit and The All-American Boys Chorus.
