Aside from celebrating the New Year, Sherlock patrons have another reason to celebrate. Sherlock Season 4 has also started its premiere that day. But then, if some of its fans missed the episode then it will be good news for them as they can re-watch what they have missed.

According to Deadline, Sherlock Season 4 Episode 1 garnered 8.1 million viewers in Britain. This just indicated that there were a lot of people who tuned in to see Benedict Cumberbatch's high-functioning sociopath detective reteamed with Martin Freeman's Dr. John Watson after "The Abominable Bride," and the Season 3 finale, "His Last Vow," three years ago.

Sherlock Season 4 Episode 1 Titled "The Six Thatchers" became the Britain's most-watched show on Sunday. It also features Amanda Abbington. Abbington plays the role Mary, Watson's wife, who was first introduced in Season 3. But by the end of "The Six Thatchers," the new mother was felled by a bullet meant for Sherlock Holmes.

Furthermore, Romper added that Sherlock Season 4 has three installments which will air on PBS and instantaneously on PBS.org as part of its Masterpiece series on Jan. 1, Jan. 8 and Jan. 15. (DVR hack: remember to search "Masterpiece" instead of "Sherlock.") But then, if the fans can't catch it on real time, they could simply rewatch the episode.

For a limited time, Shelock Season 4 can be rewatched on the PBS Masterpiece website after each episode airs. If the viewers have a cable network log-in, they can also watch it on the BBC America website.

Sooner or later, Season 4 will join the Sherlock Netflix library with its other three seasons but that will be a mile longer to trail. As of the moment, the easiest way is to stream on one of its carrier network sites. The fourth season also marks the first time a full season will have similar premiere date in both the UK and the US.

This will be a great chance for Sherlock fans to rewatch their favorite TV series. Moreover, "The Lying Detective" is expected to air on January 8 2017 to be followed by "The Final Problem" on January 15.
