NBC's highly anticipated TV series Hannibal has opened eyes with its controversial plotline. However, one of its actors is now catching the attention of The Fifty Shades of Grey audience, as Hugh Dancy, who plays the part of special agent Will Graham, is now highly touted for the part of Christian Grey.

While Dancy isn't very known in the U.S., he is currently considered one of the hottest rising actors in the U.K.  He was first introduced to audiences in 1998 on the TV series Trial & Retribution prior to his film role alongside Anne Hathaway in Ella Enchanted.

While the 37-year-old Brit is reasonably older than the Grey character, who's listed as 27, he clearly has the physical appeal to garner a large female audience.

Interesting to note, Dancy is actually married to Homeland's Claire Danes.

Screenwriter Kelly Marcel is currently penning the 50 Shades movie script, had stated that the flick would be staying true to the book with lots of sex and raunchiness, as the producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to Style Magazine.

Although the producers have yet to officially attach a director to the franchise, 50 Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in summer of 2014.  The movie will be shot in London.
