Rapper Faked Own Death? Tim Dog May Still Be Alive, Claims Larceny Victim Seeking $19,000
Rapper Tim Dog may have faked his own death, one Mississippi woman is claiming.
The rapper, real name Timothy Blair, was reported dead in February but now Esther Pilgrim claims that Blair may have faked his death in order to avoid paying her $19,000 following a grand larceny conviction, according to the Daily News.
Blair had died following complications from diabetes, The Source reported. However, that article has since been removed and details about the rappers passing are few and far between, reports the Huffington Post.
Blair was prosecuted by Steven Jubera for scamming women out of money on dating websites. The musician would claim he needed money for a new record, states the Huffington Post. Pilgrim claims that there are as many as 20 other victims, according to NME.
Memphis, Tenn. CBS affiliate WREG looked into the claims. Jubera has managed to get a judge to revoke Blair's parole and issue a warrant for his arrest.
"I need proof," said Jubera. "I need a death certificate showing that's he's dead because as far as I'm concerned, he's alive."
Jubera is not the only one who doubts the rapper's alleged death. Producer Ced Gee refused to speak at Blair's funeral because his family could not produce a death certificate, according to WREG.
Tim Dog came to fame in the early '90s following his track "F--- Compton" in which he fueled the east/west coast hip-hop tensions by insulting Dr. Dre and N.W.A.
