Demi Lovato is like a mentor to a young Disney star named Zendaya Coleman.

The 16-year-old star found stardom on the Disney show Shake It Up. She then became the runner-up on season 16 of Dancing With The Stars and is also planning to release her single Replay in July. Her debut album is expected to follow in the fall.

Coleman joins the ranks of the other stars who have attempted to transition into successful careers following their time at Disney. One such star is Lovato, who played on the Disney shows As The Bell Rings and Sonny With a Chance. Lovato told MTV that she is a fan of Coleman's music and admires her energy.

She also offered her own word of wisdom for Coleman. "My advice would just be to not let anything get you jaded. Just really appreciate. Be thankful for everything," Lovato told MTV in May.

The young star had only positives to say about Lovato in a later May interview, as well.

"She's really awesome and I got to talk to her and she's just so geniune and real and I feel that's a beautiful thing," said Coleman. "She's very inspiring."

Coleman also discussed her first and pleasant encounter with Lovato.

"She was just saying that she was very supportive of me and she wanted to know if there is anything that I needed or if I needed someone to talk to, because she definitely went through what I'm dealing with," she said.

She also is thankful to have someone like Lovato who understands what comes with having an aggressive career at such a young age.

"It's nice to have almost a big sister, mentor, someone to talk to because this is not the normal teenage situation. If I was a normal kid, I'd be at school right now, but it's our normal. It's nice to know that other people understand," she said.
