The fate of "Elementary" Season 6 is in limbo as CBS has not made any announcement regarding the revival of the crime drama but it is considering the prospects. It is expected to decide things by May and then fans would know if they will meet their contemporary Sherlock Holmes for another season.

Whether "Elementary" Season 6 would materialize or not would be decided by CBS by May and the ratings would play a key role in the decision, TVLine reported. As for the show's content, it has got a loyal following of viewers who like procedural drama. Also, "Elementary" is a well-crafted TV series that features some amazing acting from its lead stars.

The thoughtful and understated performances of Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson are really excellent. This is why their bonding has become the highlight of the series and shines its best when the duo is sharing screen space together. They are very different from other TV pairs and it remains to be seen if fans would be able to see them in "Elementary" Season 6.

Meanwhile, the ratings of a show play a significant role in its revival and same goes for "Elementary" Season 6. According to TV Series Finale, the CBS show has shown a drop in the most important 18-49 demo group. However, the ratings have fluctuated and also picked up in between. After dropping to 0.72 in the second episode, it gained steam in the third and reached 0.77.

Thereafter, it has been a string of rise and fall. However, the latter has been more prominent and thus, it cannot be said how strong "Elementary" Season 6 chances are. What is more, it is just above "Ransom" when it comes to CBS shows' ratings. Still, fans can harbor hopes of the revival as the show has shown promise.

It is worth mentioning here that "Elementary" Season 1 premiered in 2012 and was renewed for a fifth season in 2016 and premiered on Oct. 2, 2016.
