"Vikings" Season 5 has received the green signal from History channel and it will soon move into production. Also, creator Michael Hirst has shared his point of view about the just-concluded Season 4 finale and the upcoming story where sons of Ragnar would be facing interpersonal conflicts.

"Vikings" Season 5 will return to TV screens in late 2017 and the shooting of the historical series will begin soon, Den of Geek reported. The wait to watch the Norse heroes is definitely long but when the series returns, it is going to be very interesting. This is because "Vikings" Season 5 will see Adam "Edge" Copeland, the former WWE superstar, starring as a cast member.

He is set to play Ketill Flatnose, a brave warrior who is chosen by Floki as one of the leaders of the Viking party. This party is determined to travel to Iceland and set up a community over there. If fans remember, "Vikings" Season 4 has already seen the debut of Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Heahmund. Speaking of Season 4, creator Michael Hirst talked about the just-concluded season as well as "Vikings" Season 5.

According to Entertainment Weekly, he said that the "Vikings" Season 5 will further delve into the conflicts between the sons of Ragnar. Their story is already underway and viewers have seen the beginning of the disunity. Moving forward, it will be more tumultuous. Talking about the rivalry between Ivar and Sigurd, he said that the former is a divided character who does not bother with niceties and it is difficult for him to control his feelings.

"Vikings" Season 5 would see him filled with remorse but he lives for the moment and he is going to be completely unpredictable. He added that Ivar has traits of tyrants and it is going to get worse. Talking about Bishop Heahmund, he stated that Heahmund is a real character and he wanted to complicate it further. Hirst also hinted that Ivar's path will intersect with that of Heahmund.
