Designer Valerie Mayen is one of the three contestants from past seasons of the Lifetime series, Project Runway, who has a shot of being cast in Season 12 as a Runway Redemption contestant, which airs this summer.

Mayen did not make it to the finale in Season 8 of the show. The designer came in seventh but is up for a spot and another chance at winning the competition.

Viewers will be able to vote for one of the three designers up for the coveted spot: Ra'mon-Lawrence Coleman from Season 6, Kate Pankoke who appeared in Season 11 and Mayen.

Whichever contestant is chosen will compete against a group of new contestants and get a second shot.

Fans were able to vote for their favorite designer starting from Thursday, May 16, through Monday, June 3.

Viewers can vote on the network's website, myLifetime.com or via Twitter by using the hashtages #RunwayRamon, #RunwayValerie or #RunwayKate.

The winner will not be announced on Project Runway season 12 premiere this summer.

Mayen told Yahoo! TV in an interview that she did not let her elimination from the show in 2010 stop her. She has taken steps to move her career forward since and opened a retail store in Cleveland named Yellowcake.

Mayen was eliminated from the Runway during an episode where designers had to create their own textile. Mayen said she is no longer afraid of challenges on the show she may face again if cast.

"I think in that episode, I was so creatively, emotionally, and physically drained that I was just kind of out of ideas. If I had to face that challenge again on Season 12 (if I make the cut), I'd approach that challenge with a different perspective. I was an illustrator before I was a fashion designer, so I'd try to draw something that was more 'me,'" Mayen said.
