Unfortunately for NBC viewers, one of its hit TV series is about to get canceled. "Blindspot" Season 3 failed to be renewed by the network despite the exciting plot it has to offer. What could be the reason behind?

Apparently, as TV Line cited, "Blindspot" Season 3 is just one of the nine other NBC series that has not been renewed. The Jamie Alexander-starred series started in 2015 and it has successfully renewed two seasons. In its first year, it has recorded over 10 million viewers but unfortunately, it has declined to only 7 million viewers in 2016.

However, as IBTimes reported, "Blindspot" Season 3's executive producer has already laid its plans to the network. Maybe Martin Gero was expecting NBC to have his series renewed since as reported, he has created exciting plots for the upcoming episode.

Meanwhile, no further update was given as to why it has not been renewed. Perhaps, its drop in ratings that caused "Blindspot" Season 3 to be out of the NBC selection. Apparently, it ranked number 8 out of 10 in NBC dramas and has only excelled "Grimms" and "Emerald City." Meanwhile, critics blamed the series' change of plot for its failure to be renewed.

As remembered, "Blindspot" started with Jane Doe who has some issues with her memory. However, the FBI agents protected her. Sooner, the authorities found clues of a crime on the tattoos inked to her. While the plot, at first, is interesting, more and more viewers have found it hard for the newer plots to follow as it turned into a rather complex series.

Apart from the crime-drama themed TV show that is at risk of being canceled, the other eight include "2 Broke Girls," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Elementary," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Once Upon A Time," "Quantico," "The Originals," and "The Last Man On Earth."
