Blake Shelton called out Houston Chronicle music critic Joey Guerra via Twitter on Wednesday, after the latter wrote about a contestant’s rejection on The Voice.

Guerra wrote a recap of the June 5 episode on his blog and directed comments to singer Holly Tucker, who was voted off the show. He said, “Holly Tucker is gone. It took much too long. But finally. Back to Baylor University in Waco for you, madam, in Tuesday’s recap.”

Shelton attacked the music critic over Twitter for talking poorly of Tucker, He wrote, “How about you @joeyguerra grow some balls and come tell me… how terrible some of these kids are face to face..? You won't. Ever."

"You @joeyguerra are a chicken sh*t. I can't stand a person that makes a point to write hurtful things about kids just trying their best.” he added.

Shelton continued to talk about the need for kids to chase their dreams, try their best and be acknowledged for their efforts. He ending by stating that Guerra wouldn’t criticize him like that again. In his last post to the critic, Shelton once again referred to him as "chicken sh*t."

Shelton apologized to his followers for the rant, but didn’t reference the critic in his apology.

"I'm sorry for going off y'all...," he wrote. "But I am passionate about encouraging young people to follow their dreams.. We GOOD people don't need hate."
