Ellen Degeneres may be a fantastic host of her television talk show, but when the cameras are rolling on her and a celebrity chef is trying to teach her how to cook, the results are not so very appetizing.

Along with Nicole Kidman, Ellen received some cooking advice from famed celebrity chef, Giada De Laurentiis. In a recent episode of her show, Ellen fumbled along with the instructions given to her by Giada, while Nicole surprisingly mostly held her own. Ellen's skills on the other hand were faulty at best, but she did keep the tone up with some of her hilarious commentary. At least it wasn't Gordon Ramsey cussing at her to cook better. It doesn't seem likely that he would have appreciated the commentary nearly as much as the audience did.

Working to prepare an artichoke dish, Giada started the lesson telling Nicole and Ellen to roll some balls out of risotto. Afterwards, Giada showed how the balls were then coated with flour, almond milk, and bread crumbs, before being fried to a golden brown perfection. While trying to make her way through the lesson, Giada hilariously commented that Ellen's results looked "like dog food!" Along the way of course, there were a couple of jokes cracked about working with the "balls." At one point Nicole tried to remind Giada and Ellen that "this is a family friendly show!"

In the end, the trio got to try out some already made results brought by Giada, which Ellen said were "very good." It doesn't seem likely that anyone ended up eating the concoction that Ellen tried to create though.

In addition to trying to teach Nicole and Ellen how to make focaccia, Giada also shared that she is opening another restaurant shortly. As long as Ellen stays far away from the kitchen, it should do just fine.
