'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Spoilers: Director Promises 'Whole Mess of Drama' for the ABC Series as Writers Go on Hiatus
Grey's Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes revealed on Twitter recently that writers from her Shondaland company have gone on hiatus before returning to work on season 10 of the ABC drama.
The same was said for Scandal, which is also under the umbrella of Rhimes' company. She confirmed that the writers room for both shows have been shut down temporarily in order to give writers a break leading up to the start of production in over a month.
"Scandal Writers Room and Greys Writers Room shut down today for our break," she tweeted on June 7. " Am excited about what we have planned for seasons 3 and 10!"
Grey's Anatomy writer, director and producer, Tony Phelan, wrote the same post but created hype for the new season when he added, "Get ready - cause there's a whole mess of drama coming in Ep. 1001-1003 & then ... the 200th ep!"

The same day as the hiatus news, Phelan posted a comment that have many thinking he is talking about Grey's Anatomy's season 10. No direct mention of the series was made in the message but in, perhaps a spoiler of sorts, he tweeted, "Questions will be answered-lives and loves drawn together/torn asunder. We're listening, but "The course of true love never did run smooth."

Phelan continues to address season 10 in his Twitter posts without revealed too much information. In late May he tweeted that Grey's Anatomy writers were in a meeting "hashing out who does what to whom."
Season 10 of Grey's Anatomy airs in the fall. Rhimes said in a May interview that season 9 was the "season of romance" but that season 10 will be the "season of break-ups." Spoilers have already been revealed about the different relationships that play out in the hallways of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, including the recent infidelity troubles Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins are facing. Speculation also surfaced about the status of Dr. Richard Webber, and whether he will survive the electrocution he faced in the season 9 finale or be killed off the show.
