Tamra Judge and Sidney Barney's relationship has been strained for the past several years and according to a new report, they still have a long way to go.

Although the Real Housewives of Orange County star recently attended her 18-year-old's graduation from high school, she and Barney aren't exactly best friends at the moment and Barney continues to live with her father, Simon Barney.

In a new interview, Judge's co-star, Lydia McLaughlin, offers an update on her relationship with her oldest daughter.

“I think that for Tamra and Sidney, it’s not just like now they’re best friends,” Lydia McLaughlin told Radar Online after filming a bible study scene with Judge during The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 12.

During the show, Judge was seen breaking down into tears as opened up about her estrangement from Sidney.

“Tamra got to go to Sidney’s graduation and that was a great deal and obviously an important day for her, so I think that their relationship is a work in progress,” McLaughlin added.

“I kept in contact with Tamra while I was gone,” she explained. “She became a Christian. She wasn’t a Christian when I was on the show the first time and so when she became a Christian, I reached out to her and we got together and I wanted to hear about her faith and kind of how she came to this decision. I invited her to bible study which is really where this season kicks off.”

Sidney Barney cut her mom out of her life in 2011 after Judge and her former husband, Simon Barney, got a divorce.

The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 12 airs Monday nights at 9 PM on Bravo TV.
