Rachel Zoe posted a photo of her two-year-old son Skylar on Instagram, showing his shoulder-length curly hair and the celebrity stylist was criticized by fans as a result, The Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

Followers disapproved of the boy's look and noted that he looked feminine with his long hair and bright blue eyes.

"I guess you wanted a daughter," wrote one woman.

"Cut his hair. He looks like a girl," another woman commented.

Some went so far as to call Zoe a horrible mother.

"Youre [sic] a terrible mom. Do you know how hard youre [sic] f***ing him over?" wrote one of Zoe's followers.

Other fans came to the 41-year-old's defense.

"Don't listen to the haters. His locks are adorable," wrote one woman.

The toddler is often mistaken for being a girl by paparazzi photographers and other people in the fashion industry. Designer Zac Posen even mistook Skylar for a girl recently in a note on Instagram.

"Talk about bed head! xoRZ," wrote Zoe along with a photo on June 6 of Skylar in striped pajamas.

Zoe's desire to have a daughter was called into question by commenters.Ok! magazine mentioned in April how a photo agency that took shot of Skyler with his hair in a ponytail mistakenly referred to the toddler as Zoe's daughter. The tabloid also pointed out on Tuesday that Zoe did express her dismay at having a son on her show The Rachel Zoe Project last season. Zoe is not the first famous mother to let her son's hair grow long.

Cindy Crawford's 13-year-old son Presley had long hair until he was turned 11 and so did Sarah Jessica Parker's son James.
