he only The stars of Sex and the City battled it out on Twitter just days after star Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) announced that a third installment of the film franchise wouldn’t be happening after all.

Word is the ladies and the crew were supposed to start taping later this year. But Parker said the plans have since changed.

“It’s not halted. It’s over. We’re not doing it,” she told Extra recently.

The show first aired in June 1998 and ran for six successful seasons until 2004. The movie of the same name was released in spring 2008 followed up by a sequel in 2010. It was announced Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte would be back for a third round back in December. But now, Parker said she’s “disappointed,” that it won’t be happening.

“We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for the audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

It’s not clear why the film is “over” but Daily Mail reported that Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha Jones, was being a diva about her demands.

Cattrall headed to Twitter to shut down those rumors.

“Woke 2 a @MailOnline storm! The only ‘DEMAND’ I ever made was that I didn’t want to do a 3rd film….& that was back in 2016.”

Willie Garson, who fans remember as Stanford Blatch, told a different story on Twitter as he retweeted the story for Daily Mail. “And that, is that. And sadly, the reasons are true. Period…. Sarah Jessica Parker: No ‘Sex and the City 3’ @CNN”

Even though he ended up deleting that tweet, he questioned a fan who told her, “Make as many demands as you want, you’ve earned it.”

Garson didn’t stop there and added, “Disappointed for all crew holding on for negotiations to conclude their jobs, and of course, for the fans. Leave it at that. #Truth”

Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, broke her silence on Instagram, expressing her own disappointment that the film isn’t happening.

The only other star who hasn't spoken out is Cynthia Nixon, who played Miranda Hobbes. She doesn't have Twitter and has stayed silent on Instagram.
