'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Spoilers: One Intern's Return to the ABC Series is Unconfirmed?
One intern that played a major role in the season 9 finale of Greys Anatomy hinted that he is unsure if he will return for the ABC series in the fall for its 10thseason.
Friday Night Lights alum Gaius Charles plays intern Shane in the medical drama. Meredith Grey's life was literally in his hands during the finale and he took over the operation when she began bleeding on the table, ultimately helping to save her life. She survived in the end but the situation was stressful for the new intern.
Charles talked to Wetpaint about saving the life of his attendee and also the fate of his character in season 10, if he in fact does return to the show. At the ATX Television Festival in Texas earlier in June he discussed the intense finale and added that he hopes to return for season 10, but did not reveal much more.
"Oh my gosh, it was amazing," he said about operating on Meredith. "I've had an amazing time working on season 9 and the cast and crew has been fantastic."
When asked if he is hoping to come back for season 10, Charles replied, "I mean, that would be cool."

Charles' return to the show is unconfirmed and the same can be said for James Pickens, Jr., who plays Dr. Richard Webber. The season 9 finale ended with fans seeing Richard lying, assumed unconsciously, on the floor of the hospital's basement after getting electrocuted. It has not been noted by show executives if he will be killed off the show and viewers are left wondering - is he die or did he survive electrocution?
Grey's Anatomy executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, has stayed relatively quiet in terms of spoilers for season 10. She did, however, say in a May interview that season 9 was the "season of romance" but that season 10 will be the "season of break-ups."
UPDATE: four Grey Sloan Memorial interns signed on as series regulars.
