In the highly anticipated casting process of the film adaptation of E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey, actress Alexis Bledel has re-emerged as a fan favorite to play the groundbreaking role of Anastasia Steele.

According to Digital Spy, Paddy Power, a betting company, considers Bledel's odds at 5/1, and stars such as Amanda Seyfried, Emilia Clarke, Felicity Jones and Sasha Grey at 10/1 to nab the sexy part.

"We've seen a ton of money on Alexis Bledel and it's clear punters fancy her for the role - we'll be facing a spanking payout if she's tied down for the role," a company spokesperson said.

Westam Hill, a similar company, is actually offering giving odds out on the 31-year-old actress as low as 2/1.

"Alexis has not been averse to flashing a bit of flesh in Mad Men and ultimately, that will be a prerequisite to playing Ms. Steele. She also has the acting clout to star in what will be the biggest book adaptation since the Harry Potter films," stated company spokesman Joe Crilly.

50 Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is currently almost finished penning the film script, stated that it would be adhering to the context of E.L. James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. Producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to a write-up in Style magazine. The movie is slated for its big screen release in the summer of 2014.
