Cast members from The Real Housewives of New York dressed up for the Mermaid Parade held June 22 on Coney Island, complete with costumes and wigs that made them look almost unrecognizable.

LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and and Carole Radziwill attended the parade with rumored, new cast member Kristen Taekman. Radziwill served as Queen Mermaid of the event, sporting a red wig with a gold mermaid skirt and bra set. De Lesseps wore an all green ensemble while Taekman had on a hot pink wig, an orange bra, and a green and silver skirt.

Morgan wore a one-piece blue bikini under a matching wrap that came down to her elbows, and a semi-see through white skirt that graced just below her knees.

After the parade ended, Radziwill tweeted, "such an unbelievable day" followed later by "After the Mermaid Parade I ditched the wig, kept the mermaid lashes and went to a friends wedding." She also uploaded videos on Instagram of her sitting next to Prince Neptune before the procession began.

The nautical-themed parade went along the boardwalk and nearby Surf Avenue, but almost did not happen this year because of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

The Real Housewives of New York is at least four weeks into shooting for its sixth season. The upcoming season will also star Ramona Singer, Aviva Drescher and Heather Thomson. Drescher reportedly said she is ready to quit the show and Radar Online claimed earlier in June that Radziwill and Thomson allegedly filmed a staged scene for the upcoming season of the Bravo reality series.
