Honey Boo Boo's dad Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson has received some bad news about his health.

"Well we went to the doctor not a good report :( we will b headed to Jacksonville Florida in a few wks to get more results and c what the long term plan will b for sugarbear," the family wrote.

Sugar Bear has had several hospitalizations and a stint in the Intensive Care Unit all within the last 10 months.

He was hospitalized at the end of May when he suffered a dizzy spell and subsequently fainted.

Last September, Sugar Bear was hospitalized for a foot infection. And in February, he was hospitalized and placed in the Intensive Care Unit for Pancreatitis.

The family became a household name with their hit TLC reality show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. It featured seven-year-old child beauty pageant participant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, along with her mother June Shannon, father Mike Thompson, and three older sisters. The show is filmed in and around the family's hometown in rural McIntyre, Georgia.

The Thompsons originally gained fame appearing on TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras, which follows the lives of child beauty pageant contestants and their families.
