A 'Miracle Baby' After Pregnancy Struggles

The birth of the couple's second child is long overdue. Burton goes on to explain that they have been trying to get pregnant for the past five years. It took a year and a half of attempts before the couple finally conceived, only to end in heartbreaking results.

"I surprised him on Christmas with baby Seahawk booties," Burton recounts on her Instagram post. "We cried. We celebrated. We picked out names. And we lost that baby. More losses followed, and as so many couples know, it was heartbreaking. It still is heartbreaking."

The actress recalls sitting on her kitchen table every morning and seeing an endless stream of pregnant celebrities and new mothers on the media. She would be left in tears with jealousy, bitter over each magazine cover and baby shower shown online.

The experience was so traumatic that when she got pregnant with George, the couple was wary to celebrate for fear of getting jinxed.

"I checked her heartbeat every day, up until the day she was born," Burton admits. "And now that she is here, I just stare at her in wonder all day. I see her in her daddy's arms and I don't take any of it for granted. She screams bloody murder and I smile because she is so wildly alive."

Now that she has her baby, Burton explains she doesn't want to cause pain in another people as other celebrities unknowingly did to her when she was struggling to get pregnant. Instead, she wants her baby to show hope.

"I don't want her birth to cause any other woman to weep at her kitchen table," she continues, adding that she wants to restore hope to women and couples. Having gone through their dark days, Burton extends her and her husband's love and support to couples experiencing the same.

She ended her post by revealing that George was delivered by Morgan himself.

Morgan On Fatherhood

Morgan recently alluded to the couple's difficulties in an interview with People where the Walking Dead star talked about being a father and expecting a little girl.

"We've been trying for a while, and I don't think our intention was to have another kid so far apart from Gus, but now that it's happened we're beside ourselves with joy," Morgan says. "I always wanted a little girl. I got my little boy and now I get to have a little girl, so we're very, very excited."

The actor also shared that being a father is "the greatest gift I've gotten in my entire life."
