Ex-Disney star Bella Thorne made her directorial debut just recently for "Her and Him," an adult film for popular X-rated website, Pornhub. The film featured adult entertainment actors, Abella Danger and Small Hands.

The film is about an edgy 20-something guy who came across a surprise text in his girlfriend's phone, disturbing their morning routine and whirling everything into an unmanageable and irrepressible sexually charged combat. It was commissioned to be part of Pornhub's Visionaries Director's Series.

The vision behind the film -- now dubbed to be an "ethereal Romeo and Juliet- themed tale of two lovers" -- is to make the two characters fight for dominance and submission.

In the director's original vision, she said she actually want to make a Christmas horror movie. Instead, she had a "stunning, ethereal, neon type of vision."

Vice President of the website, Corey Price, described the film as a "modernistic, sexually explicit" story of two lovers. He stated that the former actress' creativity and imagination are personified through the course of the film as she takes viewers on a journey of passion and desire.

Bella Thorne's Pornhub award

A few days after turning 22, Thorne received a late birthday gift - a Pornhub Award.

She took home the Vision Award for her X-rated film at the second annual Pornhub Awards that took place in Los Angeles on Friday.

In Thorne's Instagram, she said, "I am so grateful and honoured to receive this award and be recognized for literally just doing what I love... creating beautiful visions of art."

The awards show was undoubtedly huge, with Ty Dolla $ign joining as a musical headliner, as well as Bad Bunny, Ian Isiah and Rico Nasty. The show was directed by Willo Perron, who is a frequent collaborator of Kanye West. Asa Akira hosted the awards show.

Ahhh thank u for the glowing review ️️ ”And indeed, the twenty-one-year-old Thorne brings a novel cinematic vocabulary to the XXX world, in which she envisions the sparingly depicted sex as an accessory to a grander thesis about connection and volatility that she’s developed across multiple platforms over a course of years. Regardless of the format, regardless of platform, regardless of medium, a work by Bella Thorne can only ever be that — a work by Bella Thorne, nothing more and nothing less. What she might currently lack in discipline she more than makes up for with sheer creative assurance. She has an eye and she has ideas, and she’s learning how to express them at an angle through the mediating influence of narrative (as opposed to the directness of her unlocked-diary writing, or the bluntness of her songcraft). She’s growing into an identity as a true multimedia artist, all the more captivating for her intimate imperfections. #thelifeofawannabemogul A post shared by  BELLA (@bellathorne) on Sep 18, 2019 at 8:12am PDT

Working as a Porn Director

Bella Thorne said that the progression was an exciting experience and even added that it was quite a fun atmosphere.

According to Thorne, she previously had a film idea a long time ago, but things were very unusual back then. She was afraid to make a film on dominating and submitting between both genders because it usually turns sour.

She was thankful to Pornhub for considering her vision, as well as for not being scared to jump in with her. Pornhub's previous guest directors included Young M.A. and Brooke Candy.

Bella Thorne x Pornhub Partnership

While accepting her award, Thorne announced that she has a new partnership with the website to enhance Pornhub's overall safety -- something she's excited about.

"I'm so excited to announce I am working with Pornhub to implement a change in their flagging system algorithm to ensure safety for everyone and everyone in our community," Thorne proclaimed, per USA Today.

Recently, Thorne made headlines when she identified herself as "pansexual" after previously considering herself as "bisexual".
