Former Disney star Bella Thorne recently became an award-winning adult film director for her a porn movie called "Her & Him." It's her first real foray into the world of directing.

Previously, however, Thorne revealed the real reason why she opted to pursue the path of a director for a porn film.

After having starred in Disney Channel's "Shake It Up," HBO's "Big Love," her adult film was supposedly a "Christmas horror theme." However, Thorne changed her mind and created a different movie.

When asked, the plot was what she really liked -- which is the reason why she got her motivated to join the Pornhub family, not all the sex that happens in the short film.

According to the director, she thought about a relationship between a male and a female and their fight for control, and how this narrates to the "general world, besides in a sexual scenario."

"Her & Him," tells a story about a boyfriend who found some stuff on his girlfriend's phone. The things he found implied that she wanted her boyfriend dead. It's a radical explicit Romeo and Juliet portrayal of two star-crossed lovers who have an uncontrolled sexual longing for each other.

The child-star-turned-director certainly fits into the category, given that it is also her first solo-directed film.

When asked what it's like to film people having sex, she responded that the process of shooting was quite interesting because they are real-life f-king on the set, something that she hasn't shot before. She explained the encounter as something "interesting" and "quite a fun environment."

She has already shot a few shorts before this; however, the Pornhub movie has attracted a lot of attention, not just because it's porn, but because it's an award-winning porn.

"Her & Him" won Pornhub's Vision Award just recently, and Thorne was thankful for "breaking taboo" both within and outside of this particular category of movie.

The movie is part of the website's Visionary Directors Series, which aims to take some less-familiar faces to the industry for them to produce something new and different.

The Visionary Directors Series features films by relatively unknown or surprising guest directors to expand porn creation and help create more mixed content with numerous types of spectators in mind.

Before directing, Thorne revealed that directing did cross her mind, back when things were "very different" and "people were kind of scared to make a movie like this one."

Vice President of Pornhub said that Bella's creativity and imagination are personified through the course of the film, as she takes viewers on a journey of passion and desire.

Thorne's X-rated movie has already debuted last September 11 at the Oldenburg International Film Festival in Germany. It can also be watched on Pornhub, but one must have a Pornhub Premium account.

A Tip From Co-Directors

Bella has learned quite a bit from her experience, as well. Directors in Pornhub's series has given her some advice.

"Just jump right in, you're never going to get it done until you start it."

Bella isn't the first celebrity to direct a Pornhub film. Rappers Young MA and Brooke Candy have already appeared as guest directors.
