Jenny McCarthy may be looking to join The View as a co-host within the next few months.

"She is in serious talks right now," said one insider close to The View told Us Weekly. "Her show isn't quite working out, so she's definitely open to it."

Another source said that McCarthy would be replacing 70-year-old comedian Joy Behar, who is leaving the show in August.

McCarthy is hosting her own talk show on VH1 called The Jenny McCarthy Show, which just ended its first season on May 24. She is reportedly looking to make the move to The View if her show doesn't pan out.

"The cast and crew get a kick out of Jenny," a different source revealed. "She's a good fit. She may not be able to carry a show, but she works well with a group ensemble."

McCarthy has frequently participated as a guest co-host on The View.

In addition to McCarthy, 48-year-old actress Brooke Shields is rumored to be joining the panel as well. According to reports, she would apparently be replacing conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who hasn't officially announced she's leaving.

The news of co-host shakeups comes weeks after current co-host Sherri Shepherd discussed the changes on The Wendy Williams Show. Enstars previously reported that the comedian made a comment that there were only two black women left, Whoopi Goldberg and herself. Behar previously announced she was leaving along with Barbara Walters, who announced her retirement.

When Williams grilled her about Hasselbeck possibly being out, Shepherd quickly replied, "I didn't confirm anything. We're still there." They then began to discuss other potential co-hosts, with McCarthy and Shields being brought up as top contenders.

The View producers have not made any official announcements regarding the statuses of McCarthy, Shields or Hasselbeck, though it should be expected soon because Behar is leaving in August.

The View airs Monday through Friday on ABC at 11 a.m.
