News on the upcoming season of Showtime's Homeland continues to infiltrate the Internet, as confirmation was recently given that double agent Nicolas Brody (Damian Lewis) won't be appearing in the first two episodes of season 3.

According to The Telegraph, Lewis recently gave an explanation of where his character was, following his disappearing act at the close of season 2, which had him framed for the bombing at the CIA headquarters.

"He's disappeared into a tunnel and exfiltration system that Carrie has effected," he said.

Homeland is set to pick up again 200 days after the end of the second season. When Brody does resurface, he'ill be on the run, as Lewis added that he is now "the most-wanted criminal in the world at this point."

Co-producer Alex Gansa stated that although they could reveal that Brody would be reappearing, it would be "a betrayal" of sorts to disclose exactly when he would be re-emerging.

However, teaser trailers for the future episodes do show Brody sporting a buzz cut in a foreign country thought to be Venezuela.

Showtime's Homeland will kick off its third season on Sunday, September 29th at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular cable network series.
