Queen Elizabeth is Back: Monarch Makes First Appearance After COVID-19 Battle, Death Hoax Issue

Her Majesty appeared to be in good spirits in her first virtual appearances following a positive COVID-19 test, and an unfortunate death hoax that recently circulated and went viral.
On Tuesday March 1, Queen Elizabeth, 95, attended her first virtual meeting since rumors of her demise took across the Internet.
According to a tweet, the English monarch was participating in some virtual talks with foreign ambassadors from Andorra and Chad. The queen video phoned in to welcome Buckingham Palace officials, but she appeared to be in high spirits on her computer display.

While her attire was difficult to see via the screen, she wore a green shirt for the virtual encounter.
"Today The Queen held Audiences with incoming Ambassadors via video link from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace," the announcement read.
The encounter happened almost a week after rumors circulated following the publication of a now-deleted post from Hollywood Unlocked claiming the Queen had died.
The report quickly went viral, but the publication has already apologized.
Despite the rumor, Buckingham Palace verified to CNN that the Queen was alive, and this was confirmed further when it was reported that Elizabeth made a phone conversation from her Windsor Castle residence to U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Nonetheless, the announcement sparked fear, particularly immediately after the Queen tested positive for COVID-19, the dreaded virus that is deadlier for those in their senior years.
The claims surfaced two weeks after the Queen marked her 70th ascension anniversary on February 6.
The encounters were also some of the Queen's first since February 20, when she tested positive for COVID-19. While she was recovering from the infection, she performed "light" work and kept a close eye on her health.
Additionally, she was properly vaccinated and received a booster injection against the virus. According to The New York Times, a few virtual engagements were canceled when she tested positive. "She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines," the palace said in a statement at the time.
After her COVID diagnosis was revealed, the hardworking monarch received tons of well-wishes for her speedy recovery. The well-wishes and prayers appeared to have helped her overcome that health battle.
