Pat Sajak came forward to defend the "Wheel of Fortune" contestants who suffered from shaming following a now-viral blunder.

On Tuesday night, "Wheel of Fortune" welcomed a new set of contestants who played the game as usual. However, one puzzle stirred criticisms as the players failed to solve the common phrase despite receiving almost all of the hints.

As reported by Deadline, the three contestants attempted 10 times to solve a puzzle that only had four missing letters: "Another feather _n yo_r _a_."

They attempted to guess it with "Another feather in your hat," "Another feather in your lap," and "Another feather in your map." One contestant also spun bankrupt after guessing the wrong consonant twice.

One player, named Thomas, spun bankrupt twice before he was able to finally solve the puzzle, which reads, "Another feather in your cap."

Viewers immediately took their disappointment on Twitter, saying that the "Wheel of Fortune" contestants wasted two minutes of their lives.

But Pat Sajak came to the rescue and defended the contestants through several Twitter posts.

Pat Sajak Talks About Pressures During Live TV

In his lengthy thread on Twitter, the 75-year-old gamemaster reminded everyone of the pressures the contestants face during live television. With that, Sajak said people should know that before posting mean and degrading comments online.

"It always pains me when nice people come on our show to play a game and win some money and maybe fulfill a lifelong dream, and are then subject to online ridicule when they make a mistake or something goes awry," he began his post.

He added that he knew what was happening when the players could not solve the "Feather in your cap" puzzle. Sajak then recalled what happened and revealed what seemingly went wrong.

Although he witnessed the blunder in person, he received praises for "keeping it together" and not making fun of the answers. It did not outshine his disappointment though, as he saw those good people in a bad situation due to severe stress.

In the end, he reminded everyone he has fun with players and that he teases them from time to time. But when things go wrong, Sajak reportedly makes sure he feels for them. He hopes that people will have a little heart, as well.
