Amanda Bynes is getting ready to end her conservatorship.

Amanda Bynes who made a name for herself as a young star on hit-shows such as The Amanda Show and in movies such as Hairspray has been in a conservatorship since August of 2013. She was placed under the concervatorship due to a series of turbulent and concering behavior. According to an article on People, she once set a driveway on fire.

However, according to the same article, she is now 35, far more stable, and confidently prepared to re-take the reins of her own life. The child star took to Instagram to share a video about her upcoming court date. She said yesterday, "My court date is coming up in two weeks. I wanted to thank you all so much for your love and support." The short video is currently the only post on the actor's Instagram page.

In the past few years especially, Bynes has been putting a lot of work into her own personal growth. She got engaged to Paul Michael, a man she met in her old sober living home, in 2020. Also since 2020, the former actor has been working towards a fashion degree from California's Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Amanda Bynes's lawyer, David A. Esquibias, said, "Amanda is very entrepreneurial. She is investigating fragrances. She is now considering perfume in addition to a clothing line. But, don't get too excited. She is still a studetn at FIDM earning her degree.

Bynes's parents, who are in charge of the conservatorship, are very excited for Bynes to be released from it. They are incredibly supportive of the fact that she feels confident and comfortable enough to be in control again. Their lawyers said, "The parents are happy, thrilled to get this good news. The professionals say she is ready to make her own life choices and decisions and are so proud of her." This is a much more supportive story than that which characterized the Free Britney movement.

Congratulations Amanda!
