The popular Fox animated show Bob's Burgers is getting the feature film treatment and the latest trailer has dropped today. The show revolves around the wacky adventures of the Belcher family, burger chef Bob (H. Jon Benjamin), his peppy wife Linda (John Roberts), and their three delightfully off-beat kids, Louise (Kristen Schaal), Tina (Dan Mintz), and Gene (Eugene Mirman) as they struggle to keep their burger joint from going out of business.

The second trailer, which premiered at WonderCon in Anaheim, California on Sunday, gives a deeper dive into what the film is going to be about. When Bob finds out his payment to keep the restaurant open is right around the corner, he frets about how they will raise the money to keep the place open. When a giant sinkhole tears open the street outside of Bob's Burgers things go from bad to worse. It's now up to the Belcher kids to figure out how the sinkhole came to be and how they can solve the mystery in order to save their family business.

The film is a mixture of comedy and musical, much like the show where they occasionally burst into funny songs about the story of the week. Punched up by tighter animation, shadowing, and a feature-length budget, The Bob's Burgers Movie was supposed to hit theaters in 2020, but due to the Pandemic, plans were put off for a while.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly that year, the show's creator Loren Bouchard spoke about how they really wanted it to be a theater experience,

"We talked about [streaming] as it pertains to the movie and we decided we really want the movie to come out in theaters because Bob's is already on TV. Of course, we want everyone to be able to safely see it in movie theaters. We don't want anyone to put themselves at risk. But assuming there's a point at which everyone can go back to theaters safely, we're excited about Bob's the movie being seen in the theater, in the dark with other people, because that's something we've never been able to do before. That's the main course that we're delivering to people, in this case."

It looks like he will be getting his wish. The Bob's Burger Movie will be hitting theaters on May 27th.
