Otto Frank, Gies's boss, asked her if she would help protect himself and his family. Gies said yes without a moment's hesitation.

Gies will be played by Bel Powley. Otto Frank will be played by Liev Schriber.

Prior to Gies's death, she said:

"I don't like being called a hero because no one should ever think you have to be special to help others. Even an ordinary secretary or a housewife or a teenager can turn on a small light in a dark room."

The series's title, A Small Light, comes from these powerful words.

We are eager to see this important story told when it comes to Disney+. We will keep you up to date on more information when it comes up.
