Recently engaged pair Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez slammed into a sign at Starbucks' drive-thru while attempting to flee the paparazzi.  Things got a little out of hand after as the actor struggled to clear out of the scene. Needless to say, their supposedly uneventful coffee run became anything but.

On Wednesday, the two were cruising using Affleck's expensive Mercedes-Benz to a West Los Angeles location when they were involved in this accident. In the attempt to steer clear of the paps' way, they ended up attracting more attention and even requiring the the persistent journalists' aid.

Because he was driving, the Argo actor is mainly the one responsible for the accident. Lopez was in the passenger seat, no doubt as frustrated as her fiance. Affleck's back tire has specifically ran over the metal sign, which got stuck in the rim of his luxury car, restricting them from just speeding away from the scene.

The sound of metal against metal is very horrifying in the footage of the occurrence. Check out the video here.

Despite his best efforts, Affleck appears distraught and defeated as the same photographers he had hoped to avoid rush to his help. One cameraman sets down his gear to help jimmy the twisted metal out of the Mercedes rims as he drives forward with the sign wedged into his back tire.

Affleck thanked the paparazzi and said he "appreciated" their help, but forgot about the other side of his car. This compelled another paparazzi person to remind him to be careful with "this rim on this side!" The one who made the warning never lost his focus on his job though, because his camera was still perfectly angled at the already embarrassed and stressed-out couple. Affleck's anxiety seemed to have shot up through the roof, because he puffed away first on his cigarette before backing up and maneuvering forward.

Even though he eventually cleared the drive-thru, the embarrassing situation does not stop here.

The  Academy Award winner appears upset that the cameras won't stop rolling. He looked very irked while he pulled up to give his order. He looked tired and not in the mood. But the paps were there, still snapping away. They eventually got their orders and sped away.

The couple who is supposedly getting married in secret to avoid the media circus is off to a bad start. According to an insider, to marry in secret feels like a good idea considering what happened to their first engagement.

Days before they were meant to exchange vows, the couple famously called off their wedding in 2003. Here's to hoping this will not happen ever again.
