Great news for Bryan Greenberg!

The actor, who is known appearing in How to Make It in AmericaThe Mindy Project, and One Tree Hill, among others, is set to make his directorial debut with the film Junction. The film has also just confirmed his ensemble cast, which includes the likes of fellow One Tree Hill costars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton, as well as Jamie Chung, Michaela Conlin, and Hill Harper.

Junction is a drama that tells a story about America's opioid crisis through the alternating points of view of a pharmaceutical company CEO, a doctor, and a patient. While we're not yet sure what roles each recently revealed cast member will play, it has been confirmed that Greenberg himself will also star in the film, meaning that he will appear alongside his wife, Chung.

Greenberg revealed his thoughts on his directorial debut in a statement:

"This is a very personal story to me, as I'm sure it will be for millions of people who have found themselves affected by this crisis. I'm honored to be working alongside the Verdi team, Aaron Kaufman, Anthony Gudas, and The Sandgaard Foundation to bring my vision to life."

According to the CDC, overdoses involving opioids killed nearly 50,000 people in 2019, and nearly 73% of those deaths involved synthetic opioids, making Junction's subject matter an important one that's highly relevant to many Americans - No wonder Greenberg is so clearly passionate about the film.

Greenberg has set himself up to work with close friends and collaborators to tackle this career milestone. We're looking forward to seeing how the new director's passion for the subject bleeds through to the final product and wish him luck on his venture.
