Aziz Ansari is having a tough time putting past controversies behind him lately. If you remember, the actor/comedian was embroiled in a sexual assault allegation stemming back to a 2018 incident where a woman accused him of pressuring her into sex, which he has since apologized for, prompting him to exit his popular Netflix series Master of None and shy away from the spotlight for a while. With the past somewhat behind him, Enstarz reported back in February that Ansari had announced he would be making a film adaptation of the Atul Gawande nonfiction novel Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End, which deals with how the medical field needs to change the way they handle end of life treatment of terminal patients.

As reported by Deadline, It was announced on Wednesday by Searchlight Pictures that the project has been halted due to a misconduct complaint by an unknown person on the production. What many people speculated to be an issue caused by Ansari actually came out as being a problem with actor Bill Murray. The details of the allegations have not yet been released at this time.

In a statement sent out to the crew by Searchlight Pictures addressing the stop filming order, they said,

"Late last week, we were made aware of a complaint, and we immediately looked into it. After reviewing the circumstances, it has been decided that production cannot continue at this time."

The film, which began shooting in March, had reached the halfway point, leaving the producers with the difficult decision of whether or not to recast Murray

This would not be the first time, the Ghostbusters actor has had a run-in with a fellow cast member. It was widely reported that during the filming of Charlie's Angels where Murray played Bosley, actress Lucy Liu complained about his behavior, going so far as insulting her while shooting a reworked scene in the movie.

Enstarz will keep you posted about this situation as it develops.
