Renee Rapp, the wunderkind that played Regina George in Mean Girls on Broadway, launched into the world of Broadway with a forceful vigor that made her a name to be reckoned with at the young age of nineteen.

A Jimmy Award Winner and already a Broadway alum, Rapp quickly moved over to television. There, she currently stars in the hit comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Now, the multifaceted Rapp has taken her talents to the music industry: The gifted performer has just released her first single "Tattoos," with an accompanying music video.

She developed the piece with the help of songwriters including Michael Pollack, Jacob Kasher, and Isabella Sjöstrand. The music video was produced by Andrew Goldstein and Anton Göransson.

While Rapp seems to fearlessly take on the world by storm, the world of songwriting has always been a source of insecurity for her. She said in a statement:

“I love to write music, but I’m an anxious person...For six years I’ve been saying I was going to release my songs then backing off and getting scared. If you ask anyone I’m an open book and I share everything. Music was the final piece I hadn’t shared. I’ve been excited and scared at the same time. I’d second guess everything I was writing— I still do...The only thing that changed is you guys.

"Your support on this song and the next to come leaves me f***ing speechless. I’ve dreamt of this my entire life and I’m so excited to finally be sharing it with you. Heartbreak sucks. Anxiety can suck. But they made this song. They connected me to y’all, so I’ll take it any day. Hope this makes your heartbreak worth it. I love you like crazy.”

The ballad is an instant hit. We are so glad that Rapp overcame her insecurities to share this with the world, and we are excited to see what songs the star comes out with next.
