Jim Parsons is heading to Broadway. (Well, off-Broadway!)

Jim Parsons is a multi-talented actor. He became loved by the world after years spent starring in the hit sit-com The Big Bang Theory, in which he played physicist Sheldon Cooper. He has also starred in an array of other television shows and films.

Now, he is making his way to the off-Broadway stage.

It was just announced that Jim Parsons will be heading to the New York stage to appear in the musical A Man of No Importance.

The book of A Man of No Importance was written by Terrence McNally. The music was made by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, with each on music and lyrics respectively.

The musical is based off of the film by Albert Finney. The show originally came to Broadway back in 2003. In this highly-anticipated off-Broadway return, Parsons will be playing the titular role of Alfie Bryne.

This is not the first time that Parsons has taken the stage; He has also been seen on Broadway in The Boys in the Band, The Normal Heart, An Act of God, and Harvey.

The show follows one of the world's favorite stories: a play within a play. A theatre troup in Dublin that is trying to put on a production of Oscar Wilde's classic work Salome. As 1960s Dublin was guided by the chruch with a far heavier hand, the troupe of amature actors must work against the Church's objections to the production.

This production of A Man of No Importance will be coming to the stage on October 11th, starting with previews, and then officially opening its curtain on October 30th. The show will run until December 4th. We will keep you up to date on all things A Man of No Importance as they come to light.
