The Broadway revival of Into the Woods begins performances today.

It's the FIRST Midnight! (Well...the first 8PM showtime). Whatever reference you could use to open this first paragraph, the exciting fact remains: the Broadway revival of Into the Woods begins performances tonight at 8PM at the St. James Theatre.

This production was originally scheduled for a limited run at New York City Center, but due to overwhelming interest in the show, the company has made the switch to Broadway for yet another limited run - with some cast substitutions.

With this show opening tonight, there will now be two revivals running on the official Broadway circuit: There's also a revival of Company - two of Stephen Sondheim's works playing on Broadway at the same time. (What better way could their be to honor the incredible work of the late genius?)

While Company recently announced that it would be closing its curtain soon, there will still be some overlapping runs of the two incredible shows.

The show features a star studded cast, including Sara Berreilles, Patina Miller, Joshua Henry, Gavin Creel, Phillipa Soo, Brian D'Arcy James, and more.

This iconic show opened on Broadway back in 1987. This will be the second instance since that time that the show is seeing a Broadway revival - The first was in 2002. (This is not counting the numerous other productions of the show that have been seen, both in New York and around the world.)

Congratulations to the cast of Into the Woods on their opening night! We will keep you up to date on anything else we hear about this new revival.
