Johnny Depp officially opened his doors to the film industry again after winning the defamation case against Amber Heard.

Recently, Australian news outlet, Pop Topic, claimed that Depp received a $301 million deal from Disney to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. The report has since been dismissed by his representative, and he seemingly aims to focus on another film instead.

In photos shared by PEOPLE, it can be seen that the actor was photographed on the streets of Paris, where he is expected to film French filmmaker Maïwenn's upcoming project.

The 59-year-old "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" actor sported a tan jacket and black jeans as he carried around a black briefcase. He also completed his outfit with sunglasses, a brown hat, and his braided, colored hair.

Multiple news outlets, including Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, previously confirmed that Depp was tapped to play the role of King Louis XV. They added that the filming would start in summer at Versailles Palace and around Paris.

It was also divulged that the 46-year-old filmmaker and actress would also star as Countess Jeanne du Barry, Louis XV's last mistress.

The actor's upcoming role became the King of France for 59 years from 1715. Although he was known as Louis the Beloved, he ended his reign in disgraced as he was accused of several issues, including corruption and immorality.

Why Not Productions and Wild Bunch International will help the film as producer and global sales handler, respectively.

It will serve as Depp's new film after "Minamata" where he played the role of W. Eugene Smith.

Johnny Depp Says No to "Pirates of the Caribbean"

His recent outing came after producer Jerry Bruckheimer told The Sunday Times that the franchise does not include Depp. He added that his future in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" is yet to be decided.

For now, they want to focus on a Margot Robbie-led movie.

Depp was already tapped to film the sixth installment of the franchise, though. Per his agent, Jack Whigham, he already agreed to receive a $22.5 million pay to spearhead the sixth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film.

However, a Daily Mail article claimed that Depp was out as Captain Jack Sparrow before Amber Heard published her essay.

But regardless of the truth, Depp made it clear he would no longer look back.
