Actors Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk are ramping up to co-direct the comedy-horror Hell of a Summer, which they also wrote.

The duo, who starred in Ghostbusters: Afterlife together, will be acting in the film along with The White Lotus' Fred Hechinger who is also producing the project. The story behind the script has been kept secret at this time. Hell of a Summer will be produced by Aggregate Film's Michael Costigan and Jason Bateman and Jay Van Hoy - But it's the film studio 30West who will be doing the brunt of the financing.

Finn Wolfhard said this about his first writing/directing gig:

"I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film. I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30WEST and Aggregate is a real dream."

Besides Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Wolfhard and Bryk also shared the screen in When You Finish Saving the World, which was directed by fellow actor Jesse Eisenberg. The film opened the Critics' Week section at the Cannes Film Festival.

Fred Hechinger has been a rising star since his role on HBO's The White Lotus as troubled teen Quinn Mossbacher, and the Hulu original series Pam and Tommy. He can also be seen in director Scott Coopers's The Pale Blue Eye starring opposite Christian Bale on Netflix, which is now in post-production.

There is no tentative release date for Hell of a Summer; it is currently in the early stages of production.
